CentOS 5 and Increasing the size of a Disk in VMware Fusion

Published in

So you decide to increase the disk size in VMWare Fusion cause your running out of space or you just like to have room to breathe.

You head on to the settings of your VM and click on your Hard Disk and drag the slider across. W00t your done... um no.

Here's how I did it.

First after I increased the disk in the vmware via the settings gui and fired up the Leopard Terminal. I needed to set the guest to boot into an ISO on start. I typed the following:

vi /Volumes/External.Disk/Centos5OpenVZHost.vmwarevm/Centos5OpenVZHost.vmx

New iMac Setup

So I cleaned up my new setup and I now think it is worthy of a post on joedunn.com. Enjoy all, I love my new iMac. Dual 24" displays are definitely the best.

Yay mac! :)

Testing out Lightbox2

Lets see if this Battlestar image works under lightbox2 while I am trying to figure out what borked in the image module

Joedunn.com Face Lift

Hey All,

Joedunn.com has been updated to Drupal 6.2. While the update was kinda painless it seems my favorite image module is borked. So you'll see stories around images are busted, I plan to address just haven't had time.

I updated neener.info also to Gallery2 2.2.4. That was a real easy and painless update.

Any who small update, I'm sure I'll keep retooling joedunn.com on my dual 24" inch monitors :)

New Filer Built Out

So I built a new filer using Freebsd-7.0 and ZFS.
ZFS Solaris's new and very cool filesystem. It was the big reason I did this project. Once ported to Freebsd and I did some testing using VMware Fusion it was off to the races.

So I built my system with the following parts

New Drupal

So I updated Drupal today, with this mac theme also. Now realize this is a work in progress, so we'll see how it goes. Weee ha!

Cheers

Joe

I'd Like to Amend My Previous Post

Remote Buddy is definitely the application to use. Period. Not only is the ajax interface fast, clear and designed for the iPhone. I also get complete control of my mac, playlists, volume, right down to application specific behavior. I couldn't be happier. With an airport express I basically have a Sonos without spending the 1500.00 bucks. Yay!

Well I guess if you add up a macbook pro, iphone and an airport express I paid alot more, but hey, I had those anyway :)

Cheers!

iPhone + Coverbuddy + Airport Express = iTunes Bliss

So I remembered something the other day.

I have coverbuddy and an airport express. I used to use my PSP for fun to control my music, but I don't always have my PSP near me, charged and hooked up to the wireless network.

iPhone to the rescue. Since it auto-joins known networks and I always have it charged, boom instant apartment changing itunes without a laptop on my lap.

If you want to do this, make sure you poke a hole in your firewall for port 9994.

Yay! iPhone.

Wait, Why?

Dinah: Wait, why did you get me flowers?

Joe: I didn't do anything wrong, you didn't do anything right, I just bought you flowers.

My quote seems to be funny to people here, figured i'd toss it up.
